Outstanding in the Field Brings Farm-to-Table Dining to Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

If  you’ve never heard of  the Outstanding in the Field dinner series, think of it as the culinary version of a traveling circus. Its team crisscrosses the country, some aboard the organization’s signature vintage red-and-white bus, staging elaborate dinners in striking settings ranging from a fishing dock in San Diego to a goat dairy in Vermont to an oyster farm in the Alabama bayou. At each stop, the group partners with area chefs, farmers, and purveyors to craft family-style feasts served at its famously long farm table, seating  more than 200 guests each night.
