Sky Watch: Fall for the Autumnal Equinox

We might not feel it in the desert, but we are approaching the end of summer — at least by one definition. This year, the Northern Hemisphere’s autumnal equinox falls on Sept. 22. Although the word equinox means “equal night,” the twilight just before sunrise and after sunset makes the name somewhat misleading.
