On the south side of the main building at La Quinta Resort & Club, set into the well-trodden patio behind the Santa Rosa Room, a time capsule rests beneath a brass plaque. Buried on July 4, 1990, it has endured nearly 36 years of desert sun and footsteps, waiting to be opened during the resort’s centennial celebration this December.
