“We have the best of the best cooking for us today,” Michelin-starred chef and TV host Curtis Stone promised the 400 or so hungry guests gathered at The Gardens on El Paseo on Friday afternoon. The event emcee wasn’t exaggerating. Between them, Jet Tila, Alex Guarnaschelli, Nancy Silverton, and Zac Young — the four chefs that crafted the menu for the 2026 James Beard Gourmet Four-Course Luncheon — have at least eight restaurants, 14 James Beard Award nominations and wins, and 21 cookbooks.
